Filter, Sort, and Map Shipper Search Results

P1PublicClient

Narrow a location result set by warehouse, services, price tier, ratings, or dock capability and understand how each sort and map control changes the view.

Who can do this

  • Available in public and signed-in client search results.

Before you start

  • Complete a location search and distinguish mandatory criteria from preferences.
  • Apply a scenario first when you want Relevance to represent your own operating volumes instead of location-only ordering.

Steps

  1. Confirm the location and unfiltered count at the top of Search Results before narrowing the list.
  2. Choose one or more Warehouse Types only when the physical facility type matters, and select Has docking station when inbound freight requires dock access.
  3. Choose service filters for the work you need. Multiple selected services currently match a shipper that offers any selected service, so open the profile to verify that one provider offers every must-have service.
  4. Use Price Range to choose the relative $, $$, or $$$ benchmark tier. This is a category within the current comparison set, not a dollar budget.
  5. If Minimum Rating is available, move the slider to the lowest acceptable average and use All Ratings to remove it. Providers without sufficient rating data may disappear when a minimum is set.
  6. Use Sort By: Relevance preserves server ranking (especially after Calculate Best Match); Highest Rated uses average rating; Nearest uses returned distance; On-Time Rate uses the operational rate; Most Reviews uses review count.
  7. Choose Map View to see the same filtered/sorted set spatially. Choose Grid View to return to cards. A disabled or unavailable map does not mean the grid results are invalid.
  8. Use Clear All to reset warehouse, dock, service, price, rating, and sort controls. Clear the scenario separately inside Scenario Calculator, or start a new location search to change the market.

Fields and decisions

  • Filters are applied to the shippers returned for the current location; they do not broaden a city query to nearby cities.
  • Multiple service filters are OR logic in the current interface, not AND logic. Verify the combined service set on each profile.
  • Price tiers are benchmark-relative. Use profile pricing and scenario estimates for actual amounts.
  • Rating controls may be hidden if review filtering is administratively disabled. Missing a control can be intentional product configuration.
  • Map and grid are views of the same result set. Public locations are approximate; signed-in profile access can reveal the exact address.
  • Sorting does not change which providers meet active filters. Relevance may appear unchanged when no scenario score is present.

Finished when

  • Every visible result meets the active non-service filters and at least one selected service filter.
  • You can explain why the current sort order is useful and have opened profiles to verify all mandatory capabilities.

What this changes

  • Filters and sorting change only the current browser view.
  • Map View initializes the configured map provider but does not share a contract, shipment, or client record with a shipper.

Common problems

Selecting two required services shows a provider with only one.

This is current OR behavior. Treat the service list as a discovery shortcut and verify all required services on the profile before shortlisting.

Clear All still shows Match and estimated cost.

Open Scenario Calculator and choose Clear Scenario; the filter reset is intentionally separate.

Map View is disabled or says Map Unavailable.

Continue in Grid View. The map provider may not be configured or may have failed to load; the returned provider list remains usable.

No results remain after filtering.

Clear filters, then add must-have criteria one at a time. If the location itself is too narrow, run a state/province or country search.

Safety checks

  • Do not assume multiple service checkboxes require all selected services.
  • Do not exclude an otherwise suitable shipper solely because a new profile has no review history; examine verification, service, SLA, capacity, and communication evidence together.

When to contact support

  • Contact support when a visible result fails an active exact warehouse/dock/price/rating filter, map markers disagree with the cards, or Clear All does not reset the listed controls. Include the results URL and active controls.
